Planting Spanish language churches in Colorado

Dear Friends:

Thank you for your prayers and support. We appreciate your faithfulness and generosity.
We hope that you can come see the work that is being done with Spanish speaking folks
in Colorado. The Lord has been blessing during the past few months. Several new people
are attending regularly and some have been saved. There is a spirit of unity in the church
and the desire to reach out with the Gospel is growing.

Jose and Marisol took the initiative (after consulting with Dean) to begin a Friday
evening Bible study. This study is held in the homes of church members but sometimes a
person outside the church also hosts the study. Dean does the teaching but Jose and
Marisol make all the arrangements. Recently, over thirty people attended the study in the
home of Maria Elena and Rogelio.

The Lord sometimes works in mysterious ways. Dean received a call from a Hispanic
believer in Atlanta. This gentleman asked Dean to visit his brother, Osvaldo, who lives in
the Denver area. Not only has Osvaldo been coming to church but his cousin, Esmer,
started attending as well. We trust that these two young men will soon receive Christ. A
family in our church helped Osvaldo get a regular job. He is happy about that. Our hope
is that Osvaldo' s uncle and his family will also come to church and come to faith in
Christ.

Ricardo, brother of Marisol, passed away last week. Dean visited Ricardo several times
while he was in jail. Ricardo always listened attentively to the Gospel but was never
ready to put his faith in Christ. Thankfully, God was very merciful to Ricardo. Marisol
was able to witness to him again when he first entered the hospital and he finally realized
his great need of a Savior. He trusted Christ and immediately asked another sister to
forgive him for some wrong he had done to her. The family had two priests corne during
Ricardo's last hours. He had been in a coma for a few days but the priests went through
their rites. Dean told Marisol not to worry because the priests could not do anything to
harm Ricardo. He was safe in the arms ofthe Lord.

Your servants in Christ,

Dean and Brenda
