Matt, Debbie and Daniel serve as church planters in New York City, New York. Matt’s ministry involves a radio broadcast and the Heritage Discipleship Institute. He Pastors a hearing church, Heritage Baptist Church started in 1996, and oversees a deaf church. In December 2009 about forty of the faithful leaders of the church, met to share and talk about their church vision. It was a unifying and encouraging time with much vibrant discussion. They divided into six tables with a facilitator at each table. Everyone contributed in the discussion about: What is our vision? Are we fulfilling our vision? What are our concerns? What will Heritage look like in ten years?
God is leading them to purchase NYC real estate [they call it Project Rehoboth] and the best possibility is in “office condominium” space. They are looking at a space of about 3000 sq ft which would cost approximately $1.6 million. They already have almost $300,000 in hand, so are not far away! An additional $60-100,000 is needed as they seek to move ahead on this. Please pray for God to touch hearts to give.

Faithful Members of Heritage after a Recent Sunday Service
Serving. Preaching.
Evangelizing. Discipling. In
the Heart of Midtown
Manhattan
Thank you for your prayers for us as we seek to serve our Savior Jesus Christ and proclaim His Gospel in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. As we enter a new year, we are grateful to God for His continuous care and provision for us as we embark on new adventures in 2013. Heritage Baptist Church continues with its many ministries, to children, to adults, to the saved and to the lost. We continue on the Heritage of Faith radio outreach (more than $1,000 per week!). We continue with our Heritage Discipleship Institute that has been a great blessing in our church family (see below!). We continue with our worship services and our prayer meetings, our homeless outreach, our tract ministry, and other special outreaches. We continue assisting those in our church who are still rebuilding from Hurricane Sandy.
Brethren, pray for us, that our glory would be Christ and His Cross (Galatians 6:14 ).
We will be starting two new ministries in March: a computer workshop class and a Sunday evening fellowship called, "Freedom Through Christ." Pray that our members who will lead these ministries will be greatly used to help and build up God's people as well as reach the lost.
Jackie Graduates from our
Heritage Discipleship Institute
and Will Serve as Pastor's
Wife in the Philippines
Jackie, Jethro, and myself
Upon her salvation about four years ago, Jackie immediately began to attend Heritage Baptist Church. Jackie was led to Christ by her childhood friend from the Philippines, Jethro, who at the time was preparing for Gospel ministry at Bob Jones University. Jackie grew wonderfully in the grace of God. She attended all our Sunday services and became a student at our Heritage Discipleship Institute. After time, Jethro proposed to Jackie for her hand in marriage. The ladies in our church had a beautiful wedding shower for Jackie and this week she will move back to the Philippines. She plans to marry Jethro later this year and serve as a pastor's wife to him. Pray for God's hand of blessing upon her and Jethro now and in the days ahead!
Victor Chan & Hurricane Sandy
Victor at a gutted Suteishi
Victor Chan along with his dear wife, Stacy and two children, Jasen and Stephanie have all been baptized at Heritage Baptist and serve faithfully. Their restaurant in the South Street Seaport, Suteishi, was destroyed by Hurricane Sandy. Victor has been very generous with God's people in hosting evangelists and special speakers many times at Suteishi. There is still no electricity in that building. Please pray for Victor and his family. Through gifts given to our church to assist victims of the Hurricane, we have given to Victor as well as others, but the needs continue as his income has been destroyed, and his insurance company is disputing his losses. Pray for electrical power to be restored and renovation of his formerly beautiful restaurant to take place. Pray for God's provision for Victor and patience as they wait on the LORD to resolve many issues in their rebuilding. I recently visited Victor and we prayed for God's help together. You can read more about Suteishi at Victor's Facebook Page:

ESL Class Reaching New People!
David, Chuck, Ramon, Victor, Tao Eddie at Kerry's house for a Christmas Fellowship
We began an ESL ministry last September and the Lord has blessed as we have about four Chinese graduate students studying at Columbia University attending our Sunday Adult Bible Fellowship class and also staying for the Sunday service. It is exciting to make new friends with Chuck, Tao, Hazel, Victor, and others. Pray for Kerry as she leads teaches our ESL class and hosts special functions to encourage opportunities to develop strong relationships in the Gospel of Christ.
