Ernest and Darlene serve as church planters in North Bay CanadaFlag Ontario, Canada. With the addition of a new family recently, that boosted attendance to 26 which includes five teens and eight younger folk. What a great blessing to be able to teach these young folk the Word of God and see them grow in Christ. One of the teens even put together the Christmas program for the church and did a great job directing it. Please pray for their ministry at the Marina Point Rest Home where they minister on the second Sunday of every month.

Dear Praying Friends,

It’s amazing how quickly time passes. We’ve already had a major freeze which has destroyed the garden.
Fall is here with leaves changing their colors and the woodstove going day and night.

As some may already be aware, Darlene’s mom went home to be with the Lord in August. We greatly
appreciate your kind, heart to heart concern with and for my dear wife at this time. We also are grateful for
the financial assistance that came in enabling us to go to Tennessee to be with the family and to say our final
farewells to mom on this side of Heaven. Only in eternity will you dear ones know the depth of this gesture
of love for us during our hour of need.

A lady stopped by the church about three months ago just after the morning service and inquired about the
times of the services. Three weeks ago she attended the morning service and that Sunday evening she
brought several of her seven children. Her husband came in after the service, met us and has been faithful
since then. They have to make two trips each time they attend church as their vehicle cannot transport nine
people. Pray with us about a vehicle that will meet their needs.

Another lady, whom we haven’t seen for about a year, came back last Sunday. She stated that the Lord had
been working in her life and she needed to get back in church.

A family of six, from down in the London Ontario area will be coming this weekend to see if NNBC is the
place where the Lord would have them to minister. Please be much in prayer about this.

Thank you for praying with us and thank you for your support to us in these years that the Lord has been
establishing HIS church here at North Bay. We’ve seen and are regularly seeing the great spiritual battle for
souls as well as Satan’s attacks on the church. 1 Peter 5:8

This morning I had the opportunity to speak with a man who suffered a major heart attack some time back.
He stated that he cried out to God and asked God not to take him as he wasn’t ready to die. God spared his
life and this morning I was able to give him the Gospel. Please pray with us as the Holy Spirit continues to
work in this man’s heart drawing him to Christ.

I met a 50 year old man this week who stated that he made a profession of faith twenty years ago but never
sought the Lord afterward. He went into a very severe depression years later and has been institutionalized
since. Just a few months ago He purchased a Bible and began reading it. God began changing his life to the
point that he is now out of that depression and seeing what the Lord wants him to do. Please pray for this
man.

Many Canadians are being ministered to because you cared to send this missionary couple to Canada
21 years ago and have been faithful to God in helping to keep this couple here. Thank you for
allowing the Lord to use you so that He may use us ……

For His Glory

Dear Praying Friends,

Spring is here with all its allergies, melting of snow, and springs everywhere. My wife and I havebeen experiencing some severe headaches this spring but I hear that that is common this year. We greatly appreciate you remembering us in prayer. One man who was hasn’t been to church since November last year has returned and stated that he had gotten things right with the Lord. Please pray
for him as he is presently in hospital with serious heart problems.

My wife and I have some special unspoken prayer requests that we ask you pray with us. I know that when we come to our Heavenly Father and bring our prayer requests before Him, He is delighted. Proverbs 15:8 states that the prayer of the upright is His delight.

This past week I was in a place of business and a 60 year old man was being very foul mouthed. I spoke up and rebuked him. He looked at me and seriously said to me, “Let’s step outside.” OK, let’s go! When we arrived outside, he turned to me and said, “I’m sorry that I offended you but…..” and went on to explain that he only used that language around the “guys”, etc. In the next few minutes I was
able to present the Gospel to him. Two days later I saw him again and he beckoned me to come over to him. He then began to tell me
that at age 16, his mom told him he ought to become a preacher. I learned that he had attended a Baptist Church in another province when he was young. Since he was pressed for time, we set up a meeting over coffee several days later. He poured out his heart and I learned that he had lost two children, one of which was 29 years old, killed by a drunk driver and also a 17 year old. I’m now working with him as the Lord gives opportunity. Please lift this dear one up in prayer with us as we try to win his soul for Christ.

Camp arrangements have been made this year. It’s going to be August 10 thru the 13th and we’re also planning on helping out at Camp YES for the teen week which will be the first week of August. Darlene had the privilege of spending Mother’s Day weekend with the girls and with her mom who is not doing well at all. We’re expecting to hear of her home going at any time. Comfort comes in knowing that she knows the Lord.

Thank you once again for your faithfulness to the Lord. May He richly bless you.

Thank you for your faithful financial support of $100.00 in March and $100.00 in April

Dear Praying Friends,

It’s starting to be winter once again here in the North. Already we’ve had two small snows which have come and gone. Pierre and I were preparing to have a bible study at Tim Horton’s when a young man approached us with a little girl. He asked if we were heading south on Highway 11 to which we asked why. His car had given out and he had bought another one about an hour from here thus needing a ride. He got into the car and we headed to Trout Creek. On the way we began talking about the Lord and when asked if he had a Bible, his third grade daughter said “Daddy, what’s a Bible?” Since then she and the lady she lives with part time have been given a Bible. They’ve attended one service and we’re hoping to start an in home bible study with them. Please pray with us on this.

The Mormon couple that we had been ministering to is no longer with us.

Tuesday night Bible Study with the man that accepted Christ in May is going well. He is now attending Sunday morning services as well. Please pray with us for him as he grows in Christ. Pray also for his unsaved wife and daughter.

We are preparing for the Christmas Musical “The Lamb of Bethlehem” which will be presented at the Marina Point Retirement Home on December 19th as well as during the evening service at Church. Many posters have been made up and invitations are being distributed. Pray that we will have a good turnout for this.

On Halloween evening the entire church was handing out gospel tracts. One of the teen girls went door to door giving out tracts with our pianist. While doing this, folk would give her treats. When she arrived back home, her brothers decided to also go out door to door (this was after 8:00 pm). One elderly gentleman that they met apologized for not having any candy to give them to which one of the boys responded, “We’re not here to get anything but to give you something.”

We also used the film “City of the Bees” as an outreach ministry on October 24th during the evening service. There were 9 visitors who came under the sound of the gospel. Thank you once again for you faithfulness and generosity. May the Lord bless you dear folk as we each continue to serve the King of Kings……

Thank you for your faithful financial gift of $100.00 in September and $100.00 in October 2010.

Dear Praying Friends,

The NNBC camp July 19-23 was a GREAT blessing. Andrew Inboden from our home church in Edinburg Virginia, Valley Baptist Church, came up and God used him greatly. He preached the book of Philippians, one chapter each session (we had morning sessions and evening sessions). He also did a craft with each young person making up a banner of the outline of Philippians that they could take
home and hang on their wall, reminding them of that which was preached.

Concerning the 12 year old boy that we had and still have the opportunity to minister to, please continue praying for him. I’ve sent and will continue to send devotionals to him as well as anything else I can use to try to direct him to Christ. His last message to me was “I have been playing world of warcraft on my new computer.”

The mormon lady called me and said she had an urgent need (I asked you to pray for her in the March / April Prayer Letter). I met with her and she told me that she wasn’t saved and asked how she could be saved. Saturday morning July 24th 2010, she made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ. Her favorite Bible passage is 1 John 5:10-13 and her favorite song is now “Blessed Assurance, Jesus is MINE”.
Please pray as we disciple her. Her husband has Alzheimer's and is remembering less and less…he’s in his 80’s.

The man who accepted Christ in May of this year is growing greatly in Christ. Please pray for him as he is facing many challenges from those who surround him. Since his salvation, we’ve been meeting together for Bible study regularly on Tuesday nights starting at 6:30. Hours have been spent studying the Scriptures and each time he comes, he has a new story of those he is trying to reach for his Saviour. He reminds me of the sincerity and simplicity of the blind man in John 9 to whom Jesus gave sight. “Will ye also be his disciples?”
