Pastor Matt Sands PDF Print E-mail

Hello Royalty Club and Parents,

I am Pastor Matt Sands. I know many of you have already met me but for those who haven't I will give you a brief synopsis of who I am. I grew up in a Christian home and whenever the church doors were open we were there. I was involved in kids clubs, summer camps, and many other activities as a youngster. When I was in the 3rd grade our family got called into the ministry. My Dad got his training to be a Missionary Aviation Mechanic which took three years. Following his training we moved overseas to a small island in the Pacific called Yap, Micronesia. The islands dimensions were only 13 by 5 miles. I enjoyed the many opportunities to serve with my family over there and that time spent on the mission field shaped who I am today. It gave me a burden for ministry and the lost. After spending 3 years overseas we moved to Florida where I would attend a Christian school and my Dad continued serving as a missionary aviation mechanic to the islands in the Caribbean (Haiti, Dominican Republic, and Bahamas). I attended Bob Jones University majoring in Bible and minoring in Counseling. During my undergrad years I served as a counselor at the Wilds for two years, and interned at a church in Indiana for two summers. These opportunities gave me a huge burden for teens and discipling the next generation for Christ. When my undergrad was finished I continued on and got my Masters in Pastoral Studies from the Bob Jones Seminary. During those two years I was the Academy Dorm Counselor in one of the dorms at Bob Jones. I worked with a small group of teens and close to 130 university students where my main task was discipleship and counseling.

Krisa and I are thrilled for the many opportunities to serve here at Keystone Baptist Church. We look forward to getting to know and meet many of you in the upcoming months and years. Have a great day!

Pastor Matt Sands

A Test to what I should and should not say.

T - Is it true?
H - Is it helpful?
I - Is it inspiring?
N - Is it necessary?
K - Is it kind?
If what I am about to say does not pass those tests, I will keep my mouth shut!
